The Tinker Innovation Entrepreneurship Challenge (TIEC) was first introduced in 2015 by the Makers Club, in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Industry, Community & Alumni Network (ICAN) UiTM Johor. The initiative aimed to promote innovation across all faculties, serving as a feeder for participation in university-level events such as IID and IIDEX (Invention, Innovation, and Design Exposition).
The first and second TIEC competitions were held in 2015 at PTDI, UiTM Pasir Gudang, focusing on Diploma Final Year Projects. With growing confidence, the organizing committee expanded TIEC to the state level in 2016, marking a significant milestone. Over the years, TIEC has continuously strived for excellence, broadening its scope to include students from other institutions across Johor and introducing new categories for school participants.
Building on this legacy, the 2nd international i-TIEC 2025 now welcomes students and schools from both local and international institutions to join this inspiring event at UiTM Pasir Gudang. This year’s competition promises to celebrate groundbreaking ideas and innovative projects. We look forward to seeing you there!
