The organizing of the Tinker Innovation Entreprenuership Challenge (TIEC) was first mooted by the student's club -Makers Club in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Industry, Community & Alumni Network (ICAN) UiTM Johor in an effort to promote innovations in all faculties as feeders for participation at the university level IID and IIDEX (Invention, Innovation and Design Exposition).  The first and second TIEC was held in PTDI, UiTM Kampus pasir Gudang in the year 2015 at the UiTM Pasir Gudang level focusing on Diploma Final Year Projects. Beginning 2016, the TIEC organizing committee with great confidence and anticipation, organized TIEC for the first time at the state level. The strive for excellence has led TIEC this year to open to other Diploma students from different institution but focusing in johor area. The category is also added to school categories.
